Juvéderm®Columbia, MD
JUVÉDERM® is an injectable gel for injection into areas of facial tissue where moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds occur to temporarily add volume to the skin, especially around the nose and mouth. The main ingredient in JUVÉDERM®, Hyaluronic acid (HA), is a naturally occurring component of your skin. As you age, you start to lose HA, which causes the skin to lose structure and volume, contributing to the formation of wrinkles and folds. JUVÉDERM® helps to temporarily reverses this aging process and bring out younger and fuller skin. Unlike many other products, the product is non-animal sourced.
JUVEDERM IS USED TO TREAT:
- Facial wrinkles and creases, especially those around the nose and mouth.
SIDE EFFECTS:
- Most side effects are mild or moderate in nature, and last 7 days or less. The most common side effects include temporary injection-site reactions such as: redness, pain/tenderness, firmness, swelling, lumps/bumps, bruising, itching, and discoloration.
RECOVERY TIME:
- Juvederm treatments take around 15 to 30 minutes to administer, but swelling around the injection site may last a few hours to a few days. Most patients can return to work straight away, and normal activities can usually be resumed immediately with minimal discomfort. Exercise, excessive sun exposure, and alcohol should be avoided within 24 hours after surgery to further help the healing process.
